Trying to locate Lester A Potter or Robert R Pacini. I have been in contact with Keith Brown and he said they might have some information or pictures concerning my school friend Terry L Berney who was with D/3/8 69.

My friend Terry L Berney, D/3/8, was killed on Oct 1, 1969 in Vietnam. Any information or pictures from people that knew him would be appreciated. He was a great guy who ran his 66 Chevelle hard up and down the highways of NE with a smile.

To ALL my family in Co.B3/8 I miss ALL of you guys. So many friends, SO many memories, GOOD AND BAD. Hang in there my family because you are LOVED more than you know. Datko and Kontum was rough. We made it and some didn’t. Don’t EVER forget, all of you that was there —67-68 were VERY special. God bless ALL of you. I love you dearly.

I was in Country April 1969 - February 1970, was assigned to Alpha Company. Wounded on May 11, 1969, medivac to Kontum for treatment by 3/8 Battalion Surgeon Captain Jose Delgado (who was later KIA 7/1969) Stayed with Support Platoon (SSGT Henry Martinez) while my leg healed, later became AMMO Sgt for Battalion and replaced Sgt Martinez as Support Platoon Sgt.
Several Killed on May 11 and many more wounded, Spec IV Richard Manuel Paco and I were side by side when he was killed.
God Bless all those that were involved with directly or indirectly the Viet Nam War. A Special prayer for those who did not return from the Viet Nam War.

Is there any of our brothers that live in Chicago that might know Darryl Bunkley? He was in the 3rd platoon of C Co. as one of our pointmen. I was the medic in that platoon; and the last time I spoke to Darryl, he was ill. I am trying to reach out to him, but cannot contact by phone.. Any help appreciated.

I want to inform that George Maurice Vermeulen has passed away last Tuesday at the hospital. He died from cardiac arrest at the age of 70 years old. He will be missed by a loving wife of 44 years 3 children (i am his youngest) helping him to find old war buddies . He and a son in law and 4 grand kids. After the war he became a for cement and then became a commercial painter. If anyone remembers george vermeulen look up kauls funeral home search George Vermeulen and please please leave a message

Some of us had nicknames; mine was as you see above. My name is Rich Jackson, and I was a medic with C Co. 3rd platoon. In that dreadful 9 Days in May battle 1967 C Co. made contact on the 26th. Besides myself, and Rich Mason; who were the other two medics with C Co. that day?? Does anyone remember, and are they still with us...We sure had our hands full that day.

Just found this site, just recently have been looking back to my tour of duty in VN. Reading my letters to my fiance (now my wife) and to my mom and sister.How much I have forgotten!

Was in B Co. 3/8 in January 1969 for 2 weeks.We had spider monkey named bit_h.I came to unit with Rudy from the replacement center.I believe I was in 4th platoon 3rd or 4th squad.I remember a Terry.I was last at firebase Blackhawk near Pleiku when I got transferred to 4th Engineer Battalion on a congressional.Anyone out there still around who remembers me send an email.I have pictures from the firebase I left with Doc, our pet monkey and others.

I just finished reading "Nine Days In May," and I, now, understand where and why my brother, PFC. Michael C. Roell, died.

So many rememberances...so many details, and yet, no one remembers sending a dozen Antheriums and a three-page letter, with the last two pages, hand-signed, by those who sent the Antheriums and expressed their gratitude for what Michael did by removing a grave threat to the flanks of his newly-joined platoon, by eliminating a machine gun, hoisted, in a tree?

So close to the truth...yet, still so far away...!
